Executive Team

The management team of IGEL always needs new experienced staff to increase its sales reach and to further expand its channel partner support programs. It is therefore constantly being strengthened by new experts in account management, channel sales, presales engineering, technical architecture and training.

Klaus Oestermann

CEO

Prior to joining IGEL’s CEO Klaus Oestermann spent 3 years as the CEO of BedRock Systems and almost 18 years with Citrix Systems Inc. (CTXS) in various executive roles and most recently served as an officer of the company and the SVP & GM for the Networking Division. Prior to Citrix Klaus spent his early career with IBM and as CEO of CMA Systems. In the past decade Klaus has been very active in the Silicon Valley startup community as an investor, advisor and board member in companies such as The Fabric Venture Funds, Mesh7 (VMWare), Iotium (View), Nordsense, Zigna, True Lark, Rancher Labs (SUSE), Spanugo (IBM), CloudVolumes (VMWare) and Cotendo (Akamai).

Matthias Haas

Chief Technology Officer

As Chief Technology Officer for IGEL Technology, Matthias Haas develops key technology partnerships and is responsible for IGEL’s hardware and software portfolio. With over 15 years of experience in the IT industry, Haas creates products that are tailored around the needs of IGEL’s customers and meet the evolving requirements of the global market. Haas is dedicated to creating solutions that help IGEL customers run their business endpoint solutions as efficiently as possible. He works together with existing technology partners like Citrix, VMware or Microsoft to provide bleeding-edge managed workspace solutions. Prior to joining IGEL as a software developer in 2007, Haas spent 6 years as a Linux software developer at Linogate, a Linux internet security appliance company. Haas graduated with a degree in Computer Science (Dipl.-Inf. (FH) from the University of Applied Science Augsburg.

Anja Schulz

Chief Legal Officer

Anja has more than 20 years of experience as a corporate lawyer, most recently as General Counsel of Scout24 AG, a M-Dax listed online platform provider for real estate and cars. At Scout24 Group, she held various positions with different responsibilities: among other things, she set up the legal department at AutoScout24, acted as data protection officer for the entire group and was responsible for corporate, commercial, compliance and data protection as General Counsel. Previously, Anja worked for technology companies in the internet and telecommunications sectors. Leading a modern Legal & Compliance Department which supports the business with pragmatic guidance to grow.

Irfan Khurshid

Senior Vice President of Customer Experience

As IGEL’s Senior Vice President of Customer Experience, Irfan is responsible for all aspects of IGEL’s Customer Experience, ensuring our customers are utilizing IGEL Products to their full potential and getting to their desired outcome with IGEL faster. Irfan comes to IGEL with more than 20 years of experience in End User Compute (EUC), Workspace Management, Virtualization and mobility. Previously, Irfan held multiple senior management positions leading global Customer Success and Services teams at AppSense, Ivanti and Agari. Irfan has a proven track record of increasing growth, retention and driving measurable outcomes for customers with a passion for Customer Success as it is the growth engine of our organization.

Jason Mafera

FIELD CTO

As the Field CTO for North America, Jason works with customers and partners to understand and help address their end user device security challenges.   Jason leads the effort in North America to evaluate and promote the adoption of new technologies, integrations, and workflows to address the needs of the field.

Jason is a leading-edge innovator specializing in digital identity, authentication and edge security technologies and has a proven track record of creating market leading solutions and helping enable new ecosystems of technology integrations.

Jason works with customers and partners to identify high value business challenges and on defining best of breed technology solutions to reduce their risk at the edge.

Jason has 20 years of success in the creation and delivery of market leading security focused enterprise and SaaS solution offerings. Jason has worked for a broad range of companies from start-ups and pre-IPO organizations to public and privately backed firms. Mafera joined IGEL from Tausight, an early stage venture backed startup and provider of healthcare security software focused on delivering real-time intelligence for securing and reducing risk of compromise to electronic Personal Health Information (ePHI) at the edge. Jason was part of the founding team and served in various leadership roles, first as product architect, then as Head of Product and Vice President of Sales Engineering and Customer Success. Before that, he held a series of leadership roles with digital identity provider and IGEL alliance partner, Imprivata. Jason spent 12 years at Imprivata, first as a Sr. Product Manager defining and driving to market the industry leading OneSign Authentication Management and VDA solutions, then leading the Imprivata Office of the CTO. Early on in his career, he was a systems engineer and later product manager at RSA, The Security Division of EMC. Jason holds several authentication and security software related patents. Jason holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Connecticut.

Tarkan Maner

Board Member

Maner has decades of experience in the EUC and cloud computing industry. At Nutanix, as the Chief Commercial Officer, he has been instrumental in the hybrid multi cloud transition of the company as the market leader. He currently leads global go-to-market ecosystems, business, and corporate development efforts. Before joining Nutanix, he served as Chairman and CEO at Nexenta Systems, Inc., a leader in open source-based Software Defined Data Centre, leading the organization from its open-source community-centric startup state to hybrid cloud and high-performance computing enterprise market leadership through its acquisition by DataDirect Networks (DDN) in May 2019.

Prior to Nexenta, he was the President and CEO at Wyse Technology, the inventor of Cloud Client Computing segment one of the leading virtual desktop computing pioneers acquired by Dell in 2012. He also held executive roles at Dell, CA Technologies, IBM, and Sterling Software. Tarkan serves and has served on the boards of several market leading organizations including Invicti, Teradici, CloudCheckr, Wheels, and leading non-profit organizations and associations in Silicon Valley, including Silicon Valley Leadership Group. Tarkan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering management from Istanbul Technical University, an MBA from Midwestern State University and an AMP from Harvard Business School.

Bill Veghte

Board Member

In his role as Executive Chairman, Bill Veghte brings to IGEL decades of experience in operating system development and broader commercial and technical leadership in software. Bill managed the engineering and ultimately the business of Windows across a variety of versions and instantiations from from the client to the server to embedded versions as a program manager, as a General Manager and ultimately as an SVP. He led Microsoft’s North American Sales, Services and Marketing. He was EVP of HP’s Enterprise business and was COO for HP. He has advised and served a variety of early and late stage companies from board chair to CEO advisor from Xero to Mural, SurveyMonkey to Turbonomic, View to Venafi. He is founder and managing partner of AthenePartners that partners with CEOs like Jed and leading investors like TA to transform companies and industries. Bill holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University.

Jon Meeks

Board Member

John is a Managing Director at TA Associates and focuses on investments in internet and software companies. He has been a member of TA’s Core Investment and Portfolio Committees since 2012. He formerly served as co-head of TA’s North America Technology Group and was a member of TA’s Management Committee. John joined TA in 1997 has more than 22 years of experience in the private equity industry, including having spent more than six years helping the expansion of the European Office for TA.  He holds a BS degree, with Distinction, in Mathematics from Yale University.

Stefan Dandl

Board Member

Stefan is a Principal at TA Associates and focuses on investments in technology and financial services companies in EMEA. He also leads TA’s effort in German-speaking countries across all sectors. Stefan holds a BA degree in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen (HSG).

Heiko Gloge

Founder & Board Member

Mr Gloge is a pillar of the international endpoint community. After starting with Melchers in 1988, he was made General Manager of their NetCom division, which in 2001 became the independent daughter company, IGEL Technology GmbH. He was one of the founders of the “European Endpoint Forum” in 2002 and later chairman of the working group “Endpoint & Server Based Computing” in Germany’s influential IT industry association BITKOM, where he is still a member of the executive board. A native of North Germany, Mr. Gloge originally studied Computing at different institutions.

Nicolas Helms

Board Member

Nicolas Helms is Executive Partner at Melchers Group, parent company of IGEL Technology GmbH. Originally from Bremen, he has worked in six different countries on four continents, where he has gained extensive experience in international business. In 1994 he was named Director of Melchers Hong Kong. Mr. Helms has been Managing Director at C. Melchers GmbH & Co. KG since 2000. He was one of two directors who founded IGEL Technology GmbH as a Melchers subsidiary in 2001. Nicolas Helms holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Zurich, Switzerland, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Boston University, USA.
